What's it like these days? I haven't been since it was the Docks (years and years ago, and it was probably for a concert rather than a DJ thing) but they're doing a huge dubstep thing there on the 30th with Rusko and I'm interested.
Do they still have that noise curfew? What's the layout like?

how is it much different from the docks?
I was there this past weekend for the LOVEmusic event. The way it was set-up that night were two larger rooms, and a smaller bar off the main room. Space is farly open, and fairly easy to navigate around, but there were many areas where the sound from the rooms bled into each other. It could have been my weathered raver ears, but the volume also seemed too low for a club that size. Not sure if that's because of the Island or not.
Also, the sound in the main room was pretty crappy and the drinks were pretty watered down (but cheap!). All in all, a fairly mediocre large-cpacity club that makes it hard to justify driving the fuck down Cherry and paying $15 for parking unless you really, really want to see the act. A bit different in the summer, I suppose, with the patio and Solarium open.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking - great venue for when the weather's nice but not so much when it's not.

I've been burned almost every time I've seen a concert there, though that's probably as much a product of who I was seeing rather than the venue itself.
