I really want to go tonight, I think I have a friend willing to go with me too. Do they rent skates there?

They do rent skates Lich. They also have a little bar just above and a bonfire outside

I went! It was fun! Very busy too, which was unexpected. We got there late, like 10pm... so only had an hour of skating, but I'm so out of shape that I was pretty tired at the end of the hour, haha. Also, i think it took more effort to skate because the ice was snowy and bumpy.

I looked all over for you, sisimeN, as I skated around, but didn't see you. I figure you probably weren't there as late as me?

My response which has since turned into a review

We got there just after 8pm and left around 10. Although we were up at the bar area after for a bit.

It was very busy early on, and I think we will go back later next time. If you thought it was busy at 10, you should have seen it between 8:30 and 9:30. It was like a sardine factory with assholes squeezing by and pushing (Much like a regular club night? :wink. The guys who know how to skate I don't mind, it's the idiots who think they do and don't, who annoy me. One of them tried to squeeze through a 5 year old and his dad. He didn't make it and grabbed the kid (!!!) on the way down. The dad grabbed the kid and luckily the boy ended up on top of them, as all three went down, instead of underneath. Some serious idiots. And who the heck needs to text or call while skating. I mean c'mon ppl. Some guy texting nearly bowled over another kid.

It was an interesting night. A couple of girls complained that it was cold, but then if you're just standing there and not skating of course it will be. One girl got food poisoning from an earlier dinner, which wasn't so cool and I hope she is better. I was surprised by the quality of the ice. It was awful. I would have though they would have zamboni'd it earlier, but when we got there it was crap and got progressively more chewed up throughout the night. The smoke coming from the somewhat non-existent bonfire kept giving me a headache as I skated past the area (and I'm a smoker).

However, the beats were good (Big up Andy Reid, Simon Jain and Jug!). I was there with some fun people and I did have an absolutely awesome time all in all. We did leave early because the amount of people was getting to us. When we walked out of the bar around 10:30 it looked pretty damn nice though. Thereby making a later start better imo.

Not looking forward to that chewed up ice though : )
If you're coming out for Promise next week Lich (and the weather's good), give me a holler.

Missed out on last night. I was supposed to go with a friend but her dog has a bug and started to barf/crap up a storm. We waited until the last hour before our scheduled departure and I told her to stay home with the pooch.

I didn't have a back up, but my pooch is staying with me for a week so I was happy just spending the time with him. He hasn't been here in over 2 months so I've missed him terribly. It's like he's living with a divorced couple (happily however). Poor guy.

Hoping to go again, but my weekends are already filled up. Will ppl stop having birthdays?

I missed out too... ended up working straight until 1am yesterday. I'm actually liking all the birthdays around this time, it means I get out to see different groups of people at different venues.
