About Kollaboration
Kollaboration is an annual talent show that began in Los Angeles in 2000. Our primary mission is “Empowerment through entertainment”, and we are dedicated to promoting the powerful presence of Asian American and Asian Canadian talents through entertainment and performing arts.
Our History
Kollaboration was created and founded in 2000 by Executive Director Paul "PK" Kim. Under the guidance of Executive Producer Roy Choi, Kollaboration became officially incorporated in 2006, a year after DreamTree Community Productions brought the Kollaboration Movement to Toronto, Canada. Breaking the stereotypes placed on Asian Canadians, the annual Kollaboration talent show provides an outlet for local artists of Asian descent to showcase their talent and break into the entertainment industry. Since 2000, the success of the show continues to thrive in 10 cities across North America and is recognized as a Movement within the Asian Canadian and American communities.
Throughout the successful years, Kollaboration has grown with a dynamic network support of artists, personalities and founders including: John Legend (Singer, Grammy Award Winner), Far East Movement (#1 Billboard Top 100 Single, ‘Like A G6’), Ken Mok (Executive Producer, American’s Next Top Model), Taboo (Rapper, Black Eyed Peas), Tom Anderson (Founder of Myspace), KABA Modern (MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew), John Cho (Actor, Harold & Kumar, Star Trek), Joseph Kahn (Music Video Director, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, U2, Backstreet Boys), Teddy Zee (Producer, The Pursuit Of Happiness, Hitch), Grace Park (Actress, Hawaii Five-O), BOA (Singer, Korean Pop Star), Drunken Tiger (Rappers, Korean Hip Hop), and MUCH MORE!
To be the first and only Canadian city to host the show, Kollaboration Toronto is excited to mark 2011 as its 6th year expanding the movement of “Empowerment Through Entertainment” at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre (located in Exhibition Grounds) on Saturday, March 12th 2011! Don’t miss out on being part of Asian Canadian history and join us!
About Dreamtree

DreamTree was founded and created by Toronto’s Simon Park. Its first production was "God Spell" back in 2003, and attracted over 1500 people for only 2 shows. Itching for more inspiration, Simon Park brought the magic over to Toronto by starting Kollaboration Toronto’s first ever in 2006. Since then, DreamTree has given back to the Korean-Canadian community by producing three successful shows and hopefully to continue the magic into the fourth annual year.
Our Mission
1. To foster healthy confidence, self-esteem and identity among Korean-Canadian youths through the performing arts.
2. To nurture and promote the development of artistic abilities among young Korean-Canadians.
3. To inspire and give back to the Korean-Canadian community and Canadian society by encouraging young people to share their talents with others.
