    2010/12/26 REUNITED 2: SYKOSIS | INFINITY | PHAZE | COMMUNIC8R

"It will go down as one of the most special gigs I have played in the past 23 years."
    -Mark Oliver

The wait is over - Reunited returns on Boxing day 2010. This one is themed in honor of our scene in 1992 and 93: higher production values, a more diverse DJ line-up, an infoline and a top secret location. Phaze Promotions and Infinity Productions have both joined the Reunited team to ensure this event is 100% genuine old-school ...raving.

The man like Shuggy Oliver is back for another epic set and he'll be joined by a few Toronto legends both making long awaited return to the decks exclusively for this event. And of course everyone will be spinning strictly vinyl.

Make sure to DL Mark's 3 hour set from the first event - we'll be pulling it down soon to make room for an array of rare old school recordings:

    Just added to the lineup:

    A PLACE CALLED BLISS

A Place Called Bliss aka Matt Johnson started his DJ career at "Bana Rave" along side two members of the Booming System collective on their home turf. The Caribana themed event featured Mark Oliver and Dr. NO and went down at 23 Hop on Sunday August 2nd 1992. Matt's first appearance on a flyer was Chemistry's "Lost in Space" which took place on Saturday October 24th 1992. Bliss went on to become a regular at Sykosis, Phaze, Infinity and pretty much every single other rave organization that followed.

On December 31, 1998 Matt hung-up his headphones in style. While spinning a New Years gig in Guelph the floor at the house party collapsed five records in to his set. With the dance floor decimated he and the rest of the party spilled out on to the street where the intoxicated crowd ended up on the wrong side of the fences during a fireworks show. Despite being dangerously close to the display no ravers were hurt - yet for Matt it may have been a sign from above. He called his DJ career quits that night but not without bringing the house down first and then going out with a bang.

Matt made a cameo at the first Reunited where he fielded numerous inquiries about making a return. He gracefully declined. While still in possession of his entire vinyl collection he felt out of practice and no longer owned decks and a mixer. With a little more encouragement from his fiancee Stephanie - Matt caved faster than the floor at his last gig. We love you Stephanie.

Matt's been fully equipped for six months. Get ready to re-vist a Place Called Bliss and his signature sound of Detroit style techno and slapanazz house.
