    ▓▒░░ MARK SCAIFE ░░▒▓

Guess who’s back??!! Born in Manchester, and establishing himself in Toronto, Mark Scaife has spent a good part of his life travelling back and forth between the UK and Canada. Having just returned from the UK from a 5-year sabbatical, Mark is back to treat us all to a little stomp on the dance floor!

Growing up with Depeche Mode, New Order and Joy Division, Mark has always been attracted to artists who have set the tone for the UK dance movement. A little later on this same movement having evolved from these artists lent itself to sexy, dark and moody tech-house that heavily influenced Mark throughout his DJ career. Mark says it best “that tracks a wiggla”. Records that are always danceable with impeccable production and a fierce edge.

Following his work with various nightclubs as a promoter and Dj’ing in clubs such as Industry, Guvernment and Element, Mark decided he wanted to begin his own night in a club that was built from its very early stages. He started a Friday residency at System Soundbar called Breathe. This was what put Mark on the map as an internationally renowned and respected DJ. In fact, DJ Mag wrote an article on Mark (and his then fellow Breathe resident Luke Fair) chronicling his ascent into the global circuit. From Breathe, Mark travelled to various locations in Asia and Europe playing with the likes of Sasha & Digweed, Fatboy Slim and Paul Oakenfold (to name a few) delivering his unique brand of music for club goers who were lucky enough to enjoy his sets.

Spek-e-ze is less than a week away, Mark has played with many big international DJ's over the years, here's what some of them have to say about his sets.

    - Mark Scaife played an opening set for me at Breathe in Toronto the first time we met, and it was perfect. His tempo and groove were superb, keeping the tension there without letting rip , and building up the room nicely for my set. Great tunes, great mixing, he set me up perfectly. Let's get it on!
    - Danny Howells

    - I Heard Mark Scaife the first time when we played together at Industry, a few months later I played again with Mark at Toronto's Warehouse. He did and excellent job, mixing and atmosphere wise I enjoyed Marks set so much I invited him to spin at my own party in Berlin where he did a 4 hour opening set for me. The reactions from the crowd were excellent. I think Mark is one of the really few DJ's that can create a nice up for it atmosphere.
